In Cochabamba, more than 40 dance groups oozing with talent, youth and creativity opened the
Bicentennial Carnival in yesterday’s pre-carnival. The youth traced the traditional route, practicing and modifying their traditional choreography. The walk-through snaked along the thoroughfares of downtown Cochabamba.
The precarnival was also a test for the carnival’s security forces, who yesterday began to regulate the consumption of alcohol and confiscate balloons in order to prevent violence during the festivities.
