Evo Asks Citizens to Each Plant a Tree

Wednesday, February 3rd, President Evo Morales asked Bolivians to defend the Pachamama or "mother Earth" by each planting a tree and speculated on issuing a supreme decree to that effect. Evo made the these comments at the annual opening ceremony of the Colonel Gualberto Villaroel Military College, saying "I'm so excited about this that I'm thinking about issuing a supreme decree that every bolivian plant a tree; we'd have ten million trees to protect mother earth and it would be a great way to mark the international Earth Day on April 22nd." Morales said that both private citizens and those in all branches of the military would be involved in the tree planting and that soldiers also specialize in environmental protection.

  1. WOW!!!
Can you imagine the change in the world if all our military's goals were in part to protect the earth through environmental protection, instead of poisoning and killing mother earth and her inhabitants with such things as Agent Orange, depleted uranium munitions and as per 'normal' high explosives and lead.
Best of all--it's not bullshit rhetoric--Evo really does mean it and will back his beliefs with his life (again), if necessary.
If he could serve as a model for other world leaders, the world would be a much better and more sustainable planet.
