President Evo Morales announced that Bolivia will install 2 new embassies in 2010 in addition to the 34 embassies it maintains throughout the world. The new embassies will be in Iran and South Africa. Bolivia has
been warming to Iran since Morales’ election in 2005 and Iranian President Amhedinejad has made 2 visits to Bolivia already. Evo said to the press quote, “For my part, I would like to have embassies in the entire world, but ambassadors that give results in countries where there is commerce, business, and cooperation but there is not enough money to have ambassadors in the entire world.”
