The pharmaceutical importar ESKE SRL’s license has been suspended and all their imported drugs have been recalled from pharmacies across Bolivia. Their license was revoked on December 20th when Bolivia’s Registro
Sanitario found ESKE to be criminally tampering with their imported medicinal packaging. ESKE is believed by public prosecutor Marco Vidal to be part of a network of medicinal forgers. ESKE’s medicines are known to exist in 126 pharmacies in La Paz alone. This winening scandal is causing an outcry for tighter regulation of generic and imported drugs in Bolivia.
